Memo Vs. Additional Fields

This article outlines the difference between the memo field and additional fields in 1stPayMobile.

Memo

The Memo field has these characteristics:

  • Memo is enabled in the Transaction Center's Main Options Mobile Settings.
  • It is displayed on the Amount Screen within the 1stPayMobile app, and can be used to add a note about that transaction.
  • Only one memo field can be enabled, there cannot be multiple memo fields.
  • You may set a custom label for the Memo field such as Invoice Number or Member ID

Memo is seen in the following places:

  • On a printed receipt (via the Blue Bamboo Printer or Star Printer)
  • On a texted receipt
  • On an emailed receipt
  • In the Transaction Details in the 1stPayMobile app
  • In Transaction Center Reports
Memo Field

Additional Fields

Additional Fields have these characteristics:

  • They are configured in the Transaction Center's Main Options Additional Fields section
  • They are added to the Card Entry screen in 1stPayMobile
  • You can have multiple custom Additional Fields
  • Two types are available: textbox or checkbox
  • These fields can be made "Required"

Additional Fields are seen in the following places:

  • On a printed receipt from the Transaction Center
  • On a texted receipt
  • On an emailed receipt
  • In the Transaction Details in the Transaction Center
  • In Transaction Center Reports
